OVARIOHYSTERECTOMIES AND ORCHIECTOMIES
(SPAYS AND NEUTERS)

These two surgical procedures are probably the most commonly performed surgical procedures in veterinary medicine; however, each veterinarian does not view these procedures the same. At The Met Vet, we recognize that although these procedures are very routine, they still deserve as much attention as more complicated ones. In addition to the care given during anesthesia, we adhere to the basic guidelines of sterile surgical procedure:
bulletSurgical masks, sterile gowns, and gloves are worn to prevent infection.
bulletEach surgical procedure also requires the use of individually sterilized surgical instruments.
bulletThorough sterile preparation of the surgical incision site.
bulletOne night hospitalization for recovery from the procedure.
bulletRecheck examination the day after surgery prior to discharge.

Unfortunately, many veterinary practices avoid this additional cost on these routine procedures.

At The Met Vet we feel that although the procedure is routine, the attention to sterile surgical procedures must be maintained. You and your pet deserve this level of care. At The Met Vet we are happy to give it to you.
